Mountain View Hotels in Taipei

The Grand Hotel is one of the most famous hotels in Taiwan. It has a lengthy history as the first five-star hotel in the island. After living in Taiwan for a few years I decided to stay in the hotel to see what it was like. My impression is that the hotel is kind of old and is showing its age, but on the outside it still looks very distinctive. Good for taking photos. There is also the very large outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts that you can use for free, though the tennis courts seem to be fully booked at all times. I booked a room without a window to save money. The room itself is fine and I have no complaints about it, though for the price you can definitely get a bigger room elsewhere in Asia for sure. But I am already familiar with Taipei hotel prices, especially on weekends, so it is what it is. What was actually underrated about this hotel is that you can do a short hike behind the hotel and see great views of Taipei including the Taipei 101. Best to go visit on a nice day so you can get a clear view of the skyline.

It was a perfect hotel for our family. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. Towels and slippers were good quality too. We loved a fitness gym and the restaurant. Staff was very nice, kind and flexible. It smelled really nice and decor was stylish. MRT Red Line is also very convenient for all places that the first time visitor of Taipei would want to go. Definitely recommended.

Good bed, good breakfast. But in room light is not working so well. It turn on and off by itself so many times during the nights. Service was fine but not fit with the marriot standard. Reception and maid looking tired and confused. Location is the best part of this trip. It has shopping malls and mrt. connected to the hotel building . Very convenience.

- Rooms are clean with comprehensive daily houskeeping. Plenty of fresh towels and free in room drinks provided. - Hotel is right next to mrt station, and short walking distance to convenience stores and restaurants. - Some front desk staff may not appear warm, but they did fulfill all my requests.

Location is great with Shilin night market nearby.Was here for business and under ground station is right opposite to the hotel, yet the room was quite with a huge balcony. Breakfast was also nice.

Very impressed by kind service of all staffs. Specially thanks to Mr Chen's personal driving for us to downtown. Hotel is located a little far from the central but exceptional kind service of Mr Chen can cover everything Thank you again

The front desk staff is very friendly and greeted us whenever we are at the lobby. Room is small but cozy. They no longer provide amenity kits other than shampoo, as part of an initiative to reduce the use of single use items. So whoever is staying here to remember to bring your own toothbrushes and comb. Location is a bit far from the metro station but you'll get used to the walking after a day or two. It feels effortless as you'll pass by convenience stores in the area.

Hotel having superb location beaide MRT station . Around do have meant amenities and eateries . The room is clean and bright with mineral water supply and even coffee maker . The only and major improvement need is the bathing . The bathing tub is not suitable for standing bathing . Also the water drainage during bathing is poor as the water can easily flow out onto the floor making the floor a bit slippery . This should be an easy fix.

🏨Quack Hotel Yangmingshan Hot Spring is located on Yangmingshan Mountain. It is very convenient to get there by bus from Taipei Main Station or the nearest MRT ”Jiantan Station”. 🚌Take bus No. 260 from Taipei Main Station and get off at ”Gezhi Daheng Intersection”. The journey takes about 50 minutes and the fare is only NT$30. It is very convenient and fast to get to the hotel directly; 🚇You can also choose to take the MRT to ”Jiantan Station” and then transfer to bus ”R5”, also get off at ”Gezhi Daheng Intersection”. The journey takes about 30 minutes and the fare is NT$15. After getting off the bus, you will see the hotel opposite the station, which is a 1-minute walk away. 🍜The hotel includes a buffet breakfast, which has Chinese and Western food, and the variety is more than expected; because dinner is not included, you can choose to take the bus and stay at the Shilin Night Market near the MRT ”Jiantan Station”, there are many choices. 🏨Booked a deluxe double room, you can soak in the hot spring in the room. The hot spring pool is close to the window, you can soak in the hot spring while enjoying the scenery of Yangmingshan; the hot spring is sulfur water, the smell is very strong, be sure to open the window or exhaust fan when soaking, otherwise the room will be filled with a strong smell of sulfur. I wanted to visit the public pool, but I didn’t know if the room included soaking. The staff refused to allow visiting due to customer privacy, so I was unable to soak in the public pool.
